Copperplate writes what you said.
Copperplate is a dictation keyboard for Android, for lawyers and their staff. Talk for a few minutes, correcting yourself as you go, and it types clean, punctuated text into the app you're in.
It comes in two editions, On-Device and Private Cloud.
Two editions. Choose where the work happens.
They're two separate apps.
| Compared on | On-Device | Private Cloud |
|---|---|---|
| Where speech becomes text | On your phone | On a server that keeps its memory encrypted and proves to your phone what software it runs |
| Who can read your audio | Nobody else. It stays on your phone. | Only that server |
| What the cloud provider keeps | There's no cloud provider | Request metadata, such as IP address and time, for up to 90 days |
| With no signal | Works as usual | Switches to your phone and shows it, unless your firm turns that off |
| Text quality | Depends on the phone. On older and mid-range phones, it catches fewer spoken corrections. | The same on every supported phone |
You can mix them: On-Device for anyone whose matters call for it, Private Cloud for everyone else. Before you commit, we'll check the phones your people carry.
What it doesn't do
- Keep your audio or dictated text on any server we control
- Use your words to train a model
- Carry analytics, advertising or tracking libraries
- Build a voiceprint or speaker profile
- Move processing to the cloud without showing you
- Listen while the keyboard is closed, or in password fields
The privacy policy covers both editions: what each one sends off the phone, what we hold for licensing and how to delete your account.
